thoughts about jesus, travelogs, and anything else i can find swimming around in my head....
sunday is here and easter. passover is going on now. such significant times for us and most of us, including myself, take them for granted. in fact most christians dont have a clue about any of the jewish holidays. not quite sure why this is. to me it seems like the jewish community has sucessfully upheld the important traditions of their faith and most christians have let our major holidays become consumer driven and in turn made our celebrations of faith meaningless. i admit that i have felt this in the past as well. when i think of easter - i have to search myself hard to get past this world view of what it means. bunnies, eggs, chocolate and just crap. why dont we as christians take more stock in where our faith comes from? why dont we participate in passover? why dont we celebrate lent? these are just questions that i ask myself. i want to know where i come from and who came before me. shouldnt we want to experience these things as christians? these are traditions that people have died for. the fathers of my faith whether jewish or catholic. this is where our faith comes from, whether we choose to acknowledge it or not, so why do we choose to be ignorant? why do we forget that jesus was a jew? anyway - this easter i am trying to remember where i came from. i want to try and follow the rabbi that changed everything.

WELL IT'S MUCH EASIER TO NOT HAVE TO THINK. THINK ABOUT WHAT? WELL..., TRADITION, WHY THEIR GENERATION HAS LEFT THE PAST GENERATION'S TRADITION. THAT WOULD IN TURN HAVE TO MAKE THEM THINK WHY OUR GENERATION IS LEAVING THEIR TRADITION, AND THAT WOULD JUST BE THE MOST HORRIFIC THING IN THE WORLD TO THEM. ALL THAT THEY HAVE TRY TO MOLD US IN TO WOULD THEN BE MEANINGLESS. THEY WOULD EITHER HAVE TO REVERT BACK TO PAST TRADITION OR ALLOW US TO MAKE OUR OWN. EITHER WAY THEY DON'T WANT TO DO EITHER. SO..... LET’S NOT THINK AT ALL.
OH YEA, THE WHOLE BUNNY, EGGS, AND CHOCOLATE THINK WAS STARTED BY THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, IN AN EFFORT TO REACH OUT TO PEGANS.

HISTORY (OFTEN TRADITION) NEEDS TO BE WELL KNOWN FOR FOUNDATION, BUT TRADITION HAS ITS PLACE. GOD CALLS US TO LEAVE OUR TRADTION AT TIMES FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF HIS KINGDOM. AND YES THE BIBLE ADDRESS THIS ISSUE ALSO.

hey it seems that you disagree with me a lot, i don't want to seem as a bigot. In-fact i often do agree with you, but i just want to help the church as much as i do the lost. i do believe that you and i agree on most issues, i just hate seeing the church attacked, although they may be wrong in some aspects. i believe we can communicate to the church and be a difference in actions.

the fact that i disagree with you most of the time is neither here nor there. i dont mind your comments. but i feel no need to justify my comments to you that i make on my blog. i am not here to argue your points or mine - just to express what i am feeling or thinking at this stage in my thoughts or life. this is the purpose of MY blog - getting my thoughts out of my head - and most of the time i am not attacking anyone or anything -just asking questions. i attend a church just like i assume you do - i love it. but that doesnt discount my experiences that i have had, that are very real to me. If you love something - someone once told me - love it enough to want to make it better. plus honestly i choose to not really directly respond to you because i have no idea who you are. if i comment to others - it is because they are dear friends and this is my way of keeping in contact with those people who are all over this huge world. so thanks for your opinions - i just dont feel the need to argue on my blog with anyone...
i never meant for you to see my comments as an argument, i just wish to know how we get to were we are at, and why we feel that way. i mean i wish to understand you more only because deep inside i feel the same way, just to afraid to admit it. and i love church, just often hate the condition that it is in.
who i am well i want to know you for you, often people talk to others differently once they perceive who they are, (we all do this to some degree even in the smallest ways). i learn more this way, so i have done this for me. you are very honest and i like that. beside you never may know who you are talking to, but inside you will never care who i really am, just were you really you. those are the things we think about most, the “i wish i would have…” i hope we can help each other see different aspects of life. you are a courageous man. continue life meeting challenges, pursuing them, and looking forward to the next one.
